Fates Entwined (Halven Rising #2)
Jules Barnard
Release Date: November 2016
Genre: Young Adult, Urban Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance, Fairies
Summary:
They can never be together. The notion is laughable. Humans are inferior, a scourge on the Fae and on the magic passed down to them by angels millennia ago. And if Keen finds himself drawn to the tiny human female, he keeps it to himself. He won’t add to the half-breed problem that threatens his people’s existence.
Reese can’t stand Keen. He criticizes her clothing, won’t answer a straight question, and is too handsome for her peace of mind.
Her entire life, people have pegged Reese for a shallow, ditzy blond. She won’t accept the stereotype from the large, arrogant Fae too. But after Keen saves her life, she begins to question what truly lies beneath his stoic demeanor.
Forced together, Keen and Reese fight to survive among enemies, and Keen makes choices Reese couldn’t have predicted. She glimpses a side of him that is protective and dangerously seductive.
But Keen refuses to acknowledge their connection.
Until he's faced with the decision to betray his people, or lose Reese forever.
Tour Dates: November 14 - 18

My Thoughts
Reese wakes up to being stuck in the arm with a needle by men she has no clue who they are. She then gets transferred to a dungeon, where she has no food or water and is freezing to death. From the last book, Keen was on a mission to find where Reese is, when he finally finds her, he is not happy. Reese is almost dead when Keen finds her. The evil self-appointed queen Portia wants to keep Reese, because she thinks she is Halven from a noble bloodline. Keen is protective of Reese and wants to keep her safe, but he makes some really bad decisions to keep her safe.
I love how this book was about the side characters from the first book. Reese and Keen, boy do they like fighting each other. I really liked watching their relationship grow throughout the book. I also felt like this book had a lot more development of the Fae world and I really enjoyed that. I also like how Elena and Derek were still mentioned, because I still love them! I can not wait for the next book to come out!!
I received a copy from YA Bound Book Tours in exchange for a honest review.
